The goal of Within These Pages is to improve the learning ability of elementary age children through the use of our unique unit studies.
Our units allow you to incorporate Science, Social Studies, History and Self-Concept topics at the same time as you develop your student's reading skills. This is achieved through the use of fiction and non-fiction literature that is drawn from a wide range of authors and genres.
Units utilize a variety of methods to inspire, stimulate, and connect with your child as they develop skills that form the basis of a lifetime of learning.
Our program is enjoyable for children. It is not a chore. Children have so much fun; they often forget that they are learning. Within These Pages operates on the premise that a happy child will be a successful child. All materials can be easily adapted for individual students and their learning styles and abilities.
Withing These Pages provides 3 catagories of units. They are:
Guided Reading Units
Guided Reading Units are a 4-6 week topic study that allows students to make connections across the curriculum,
enhance learning experiences, and provide opportunities for meaningful interactions with fiction and non-fiction literature.
These units are suitable for children who have a reading age between 8 &12 years.
Language Experience Units
Language Experience Units introduce the students to a Science, Social Studies, History or Self-Concept theme through a read-a-loud book that can help create a believable picture in the students' minds and give them a framework for understanding additional material as it is presented throughout the unit. Units provide a 2-3 week study program. These units are suitable for children who have a reading age between 5 & 7 years.
Unit Studies
Unit Studies provide a 3-4 week series of lessons and include focus questions, activities, experiments and background information for the educator. These units are suitable for students in Grades K-6.
